The Non-immigrant Visa Unit processes applications for people traveling to the United States for a temporary purpose. Applications are accepted by appointment only.  Please call the VIS to schedule an appointment.  For telephone inquiries about non-immigrant visas in Ankara, please call +90-312-455-5555 and press 1 for Consular Services Monday through Thursday between 16:00 and 17:00, or fax us at +90-312-466-1586.

The Istanbul Consulate is located at İstinye Mahallesi, Kaplıcalar Mevkii No.2, İstinye, 34460.  The Consular Section is open every workday, from 08:00-16:30, for normal business. The Consular Section may be reached through the 24-hour switchboard at +90 212- 335-9000.

Passports must be valid for at least six months after the date of your interview in order for a visa to be placed in the passport.  If your passport has less than six months’ validity, please make sure you extend its validity before your interview.

Please apply at least 6-8 weeks in advance of your desired travel date. Please ensure all questions are answered on the application and your photograph meets the requirements outlined in point 5 of the step-by-step guide. Failure to follow these instructions could result in your interview being delayed.

The Embassy will be closed for the following days in 2009! The VIS is open on American holidays.
